LIGHT OF FAITH.

I must look more into the darkness for the light

And see the shadows in the daytime

As the counterpart of the night,

And not to take flight from

But rather to fight for

My solitude.

How much solitude do I need?

Where can it be free?

From me and ye and he and she

Even Thee, eventually,

Unless I pray and find the light

In the darkness.

PASSING SOLACE

The rituals keep passing in time

And I find a sense of home

Amidst the grind of my teeth;

Wine does not keep me on the vine

But only the silence that is mine.

It is done!

The traitor has found death

In his ransom;

The denial,

Repentance and tears;

Now I have only

To accept all the pain

And find solace in Christ

For my fears.

CLOSER WALK.

Would that I could sense Your presence always;

That I knew everything that You are;

Everything that I have heard and read about You;

And that I saw it in the flesh:

In time;

In my solitude;

In my travels among men;

In my work;

In my play;

My talk.

Would that I could walk with You

And just listen.
