JANUARY LIGHT

Sweet eyes of January,

Behind and in front of my soul

That wants only eternity to see:

Give visions

Of truths that would transcend past suffering

And contain an enchanted future journey;

Where I am a pilgrim

In search of a salvation

Which sanctifies the Cross roads in time;

That whatever will come

As the blindness encroaches

Through the new seasons

I will not think as mine,

But only the light of a Christ called Eternal,

That through my experiences

His reflection will shine.

There are three modes of being it seems:

  1. Living the life I have within me to the fullest;
  2. Looking to the life I find around me for what I might give or get by sharing;
  3. Languishing the life that passes in time in order to find and receive life eternal.

Good must be more than what I can imagine within myself (1) and more than what I can experience about and around myself (2). So I must languish and pine for what it must be (3) and find fiat and acceptance for what it is.
