NO MEMORY NOW

It does not matter

If a memory is

Attractive, alive or fun;

It is no place

For my soul to run;

Rather it is this moment,

Now, in time,

That for me was won

By the grace of the Father

In the Spirit and the Son;

When that is gone

I have lost the plum

Of living.

Yesterday and tomorrow

Are only spun

From now and

Without now

I am alone and

My life becomes nothing.

STRANGE CHRIST

How much do I believe that Christ is real?

Some ‘idea’ that is real in the church I drive by

Or I go into once a week?

Or maybe when my life is bleak

Or I am feeling rather meek?

Or when I am led to seek Him

When I hear another speak?

Not much of a feat to greet Him

When He comes to me, uninvited.

The real challenge

Is to invite Him into my life;

My every waking hour and minute;

My dreams and hopes and fantasies;

Who I have come to think I am and

Who I have realized I am not;

My neighbor, my employer,

My parent, child, sibling or friend;

My enemy and the stranger I meet

Around the bend.
