BEST SHARED

There are so many things that I could think about you

But I am trying to think only the best;

My God, we are all in this together,

Why put us or one another to the test?

Our journey is a confusing, sad pilgrimage,

Much in need of direction and support;

Tis better that we keep an eternal perspective

Than to give up or

To sell ourselves short.

Slow down!

Seek God in the silence.

Remember our mortal affair.

Do not lose sight of our sinful nature;

But never that lesser nature share.

BEING STILL

If only everyone could slow down;

Hear the flowers breathing and

See the sparrows sing;

Our life would be less tragic and

Jesus would be King;

Peace and understanding

Would always reign supreme;

Suffering and death would still remain

But would be far less mean;

Father would be everywhere,

Even on the cross

And on Him all our cares and ills

For His sake would be tossed;

Everyone would know the journey

And no one would be lost.

Oh yes, we would all be under the influence

Of something sight unseen

And what will be our children’s tomorrow

Will be what already for our fathers has been.

Time is only moving.

Life is standing still.

We become its children

Finding the Father’s will.
